Sidebar

DocsMatter can, optionally, make use of a WordPress sidebar (“Sidebar”).

If you create a sidebar, you can add things like a search widget, a tag cloud widget, static text, or other things you may want to have available, but that may not, strictly speaking, be a part of your documentation site. You can also place links here to your main website or other sites that may be of interest to the visitor.

If you use the WordPress tag cloud widget, it will be populated by tags used on your pages.

The theme should work without issues with the default sidebar created by WordPress for new sites. You may, however, want to edit that sidebar since it contains things that aren’t relevant for an online documentation site.
